Writing Poetry

Writing poetry
is breaking the still-warm
bread of dreams,
throwing the crumbs
to seagulls which appea
on the secret shore.

Rarely
the crumb stops in mid-flight
and hanging above the seas
it turns the seagull
into an angel
which seems then to emerge
from clouds of grace
to waken the earth
to the new melody.

Scrivere Poesia // Scrivere poesia / è spezzare il caldo / pane dei sogni, / lanciare la mollica / a gabbiani apparsi /sulla segreta riva. / Di rado / la midolla s’arresta in alto / e sospesa sui mari / converte in angelo / il gabbianoche pare emergere allora / da nubi di grazia / per destare la terra / alla nuova melodia.
